CSP22 Presented by AGX, Breaks Fundraising Record

The 12th Annual Children’s Safe Passage Charity Golf Event, dubbed “CSP22”, took place on October 10, 2022 at Queen’s Harbour Yacht & Country Club. AGX Freight has been a presenting sponsor of the event for 6 years. For the second year in a row, the tournament was sold out with 80 golfers and 22 sponsors. The charity was founded in 2010 by AGX Freight CEO, Mike Williams, and a small group of committed volunteers after the Somer Thompson tragedy in October 2009. The heartbreaking story of Somer, 7 years old at the time of her abduction and murder at the hands of a sexual predator, was the inspiration for creating an organization that would identify and financially support those organizations whose mission is to prevent violence and sexual exploitation of children. For more than a decade, the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, based in Jacksonville, Florida, has been the primary beneficiary of all funds raised through the golf event, through the Somer Sunshine Scholarship.

Diena Thompson, Somer’s mother, attended the event and greeted both old and new friends - showing her appreciation for support of the scholarship named for her daughter. Many of the sponsors, including True Transport Insurance, Great American Insurance, Intact Insurance, Hillis Properties and others have been attending the event since the beginning. Several sponsors increased their donation level, including Shoreside Logistics, Premier Trailer Leasing and the National Defense Transportation Association. As a result, the event raised $10,000 more than the previous year, breaking the record for funds raised since inception. The event also welcomed new sponsors such as OneDigital, ArdentX, Harbor Contracting, Duval Semi Trailers and Life Power.

Jacksonville native and Korn Ferry Tour Player, AJ Crouch, made a special appearance at the event - helping foursomes score on the Par 3, third hole.

Team LeaderBoardKing won the competition with a one shot victory over Team Harbor Contracting.
